The Opportunity

  • Looking for insurance underwriting NOT mortgage underwriting experience
  • In office position in Detroit, MI or Schaumburg, IL

Support our auto dealer partners by protecting their most valuable assets - their inventory. We provide physical damage coverage for the cars on their lot, strengthening the bonds between our organizations. An Underwriter will evaluate risks according to location, physical and moral hazards, individual risk characteristics, inspection reports, loss experience and company guidelines in order to accept, decline or modify a business submission.

The Work Itself

  • Serves as a consultant to producers, customer service and claims personnel, as required.
  • Underwrites new and renewal business for ADI inventory insurance programs.
  • Submits complex or unusual risks, or risks exceeding personal underwriting authority to the appropriate party for appropriate handling.
  • May be assigned specific accounts or territories and is responsible for the profitable performance of that book of business.

The Skills You Bring

  • 1-3 years in financial services or similar industry out of college is needed.
  • Prior leadership experience is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in business related discipline preferred.
  • Education may be used as a proxy for experience.
  • Perform technical tasks required to support ongoing business operations.
  • Skilled technician in a hands-on environment, often highly specialized.
  • Requires advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs.
