Position Overview: The I&E Technician is responsible for the design, programming, integration, and support of customer control systems.

Job Duties:

  • Wiring of PLCs and other various field control devices.
  • Troubleshoot and commissioning of VFDs.
  • Configures and calibrates flow, pressure, level, and temperature instrumentation.
  • Install field and panel mounted equipment.
  • Installs pressure, temperature, flow, level switches, and monitoring devices.
  • Troubleshoots equipment failures.
  • Improves and enhances teamwork, and efficiency.
  • Assist in the training and development of new employees.
  • Follows all site safety policies/procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills/Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Previous electrical experience, Journeyman’s license preferred.
  • Ability to read equipment prints and secure information from OEM manuals.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to complete projects safely and in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work across multiple groups.
  • Initiative-taker with a keen ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions in technically demanding situations.
  • Ability to understand and use instrument calibration and electrical testing equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret various drawings such as P&IDs, SWDs, and single line diagrams.

Essential Requirements:

  • Work in tight and closed spaces.
  • Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to work overtime, including call outs.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Working outside most of the time with potential exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures.
  • Climbing up and down stairs and ladders to both get in and out of trenches and up to elevated platforms (scaffolding at significant heights).
  • Lifting necessary equipment and materials 1-50 pounds, 50% of the time monthly for required tasks.
  • Walking on uneven terrain, with an average of two miles per day.
  • Use of respirator if position requires.
  • Potential or periodic amounts of time for the following:
  • Sit, stoop, crawl, stand, and kneel.
  • If driving is required, a valid driver’s license and proof of insurability will be required. All drivers are subject to a DMV background records search.
