Mold Maintenance Technician

Location: Newton, NC (On-site)

Schedule: 2nd Shift | 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM, Monday – Friday

Pay: $26/hr + $1.00 shift differential (up to $33.15/hr with qualifying experience)

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Mold Maintenance Technician to support our 2nd shift mold maintenance team. This position is responsible for preventive maintenance and repair of injection molds to support ongoing production. Ideal candidates will bring mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality mold care.

This is an excellent role for someone with mold tooling or mechanical experience looking to expand their skills in a supportive, team-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on injection molds and tooling
• Diagnose and complete mold repairs in the tool shop and on the production floor
• Troubleshoot common molding issues such as flash on the parting line
• Ensure proper venting in molds and understand its impact on part quality
• Use polishing tools and apply basic metal polishing techniques
• Work with mold electrical wiring, hot runner systems, and valve gate systems
• Complete mold condition and spare part reports; enter data in internal systems (e.g., BDE)
• Safely disassemble, assemble, and care for mold components during maintenance cycles
• Assist in guiding apprentices as needed

Your Profile

• Experience in mold or industrial maintenance accepted
• Injection molding experience is a strong plus, but not required
• Experience with preventive maintenance in a manufacturing environment
• Familiarity with mold venting, hot runners, valve gates, and troubleshooting flash issues
• Basic knowledge of metal polishing and mold electrical wiring
• Comfortable using hand tools and working from technical documents
