Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Graphic Designer to collaborate with State staff and develop visually compelling designs that effectively communicate the desired message. The Graphic Designer will be responsible for advising on strategies to target specific audiences, creating graphics for logos and websites, and ensuring all designs meet high standards of quality, usability, and accessibility. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work on-site regularly.

Key Responsibilities:

• Meet with State staff to understand the scope and objectives of various projects.
• Provide strategic advice to the State on how to effectively reach target audiences.
• Determine and develop design elements that clearly convey a message or identify a product.
• Create and refine images and graphics for logos, websites, and other digital platforms.
• Choose colors, images, text styles, and layouts that align with the project’s goals.
• Present design concepts to the State for feedback and approval.
• Incorporate changes and recommendations from the State into the final design.
• Review designs thoroughly to ensure they are error-free before printing or publishing.
• Ensure coding standards are followed, optimizing web architectures for both navigability and accessibility.
• Use specialized graphic design software to prepare high-quality designs.
