Our client is a steel distributor and service center with a local presence and global reach catering to companies across the clients in the oil and gas, construction, mining, and machinery industries. Their Houston facility has been in operation for over 20 years.

 

Job Summary

Our client is currently seeking a General Labor who will handle and transport materials, and is skilled in using tools such as Grinder, Sander, Drill, Band and/or Chop saw; able to read measurements and can perform other miscellaneous tasks as needed.

 

Job Description

• This position will handle and transport materials.
• Recommended skills to operate tools listed below:
  • Use a Grinder, Sander, Drill, Band saw, or Chop saw.

• Must be able to read measurements
• Will perform miscellaneous tasks as needed.
• Will maintain a clean area, not limited to sweeping the shop floor.
• Operating various tools and types of equipment. 
• Identify safety risks and hazards and comply with relevant safety procedures and regulations.
• Be able to use measurement tools such as calipers, squares, and straightedges to lay out and assemble metal parts of

Skills Required

• 2 years of experience in an industrial setting 
• Experience working for a manufacturing/light industrial company highly preferred. 

 

Education/Training/Certifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred

 

Additional Requirements

• Shift Hours: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm

 

Pay Rate/Salary

• $16.75 - $17.00/hr.
