The Deschutes Brewery Bend Public House is looking for an enthusiastic
Full Time Baker , who is driven, excels in a fast-paced kitchen, and is committed to the highest standards of cleanliness and safety. A sense of urgency, attention to detail and commitment to quality are required. We are looking for someone with a great attitude that can work effectively in a team-based atmosphere, has effective communication skills, and is a motivated self-starter with a strong work ethic.
The right fit will have the highest ability to mix, shape, and bake handcrafted savory breads, crackers, and rolls...just to name a few! Previous commercial baking experience with artisan breads (mix/bake/shaping) and/or pastry is required.
Duties include but are not limited to: - Measure and mix ingredients to shape breads, rolls, and desserts
- Weigh materials to ensure appropriate quantity
- Cut and mold dough into equal parts to ensure that each batch has a uniform appearance
- Ensure that correct quantities of batches are being made
- Ensure appropriate storage of baking utensils and supplies
- Make sure that baking equipment is cleaned and maintained properly
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards
- Oversee cleanliness and sanitation of work area and equipment
Requirements of the position: - Previous commercial baking experience with artisan breads and/or pastry required
- This position primarily works early morning shifts. Day, weekend and night shifts may be required on occasion, flexibility is a plus!
- Maintains a professional attitude and appearance
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting
- Positive attitude
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
- Able to stand for long periods of time
