Summary
R&J Utility / RR&J Electric is a family-owned and oriented construction company located in Tolleson, AZ. Our company was founded in 2017 and we have since built a reputation for delivering high-quality and reliable construction services to our clients across the Phoenix Metropolitan Area. We specialize in residential underground utility work including sewer, water, storm drain, and electric conduit. We are seeking an experienced full-charge bookkeeper with a strong knowledge of construction accounting and an understanding of ComputerEase software to join our team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction accounting experience with a general contractor
• 3+ years of working in utility construction accounting
• Strong understanding of construction-specific accounting systems
• Deep comprehension of ComputerEase accounting software (Highly Preferred)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Bilingual Preferred (Spanish)

Responsibilities

• Oversee full-cycle bookkeeping of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, journal entries, and general ledger
• Generate financial reports including trial balance, balance sheet, profit and loss, and aging reports
• Maintain and oversee job cost-related reports including WIP and job cost summaries
• Reconcile cash, bank accounts, and credit cards monthly
• Ensure the accuracy of financial records entered into ComputerEase on a monthly and annual basis for closing
• Work closely alongside CPA to complete yearly tax and property tax filings
• Additional duties include filing monthly city sales tax, annual 1099s, reimbursements, and inter-company reconciliations
