  4. Formwork Estimation and Reuse Calculations:

    • Assess formwork requirements for projects, including quantities, equipment rentals, and reuse strategies to optimize costs.
    • Accurately calculate reuse costs for formwork and ensure estimates reflect optimal formwork utilization based on project timelines.

  5. Bid Submission and Client Communication:

    • Compile and submit comprehensive bid proposals to clients, ensuring all costs and assumptions are clearly documented.
    • Provide detailed breakdowns of concrete-related costs and present estimates in a manner that aligns with client needs and project objectives.

  6. Risk Management and Value Engineering:

    • Identify potential project risks and propose alternative solutions to mitigate cost impacts.
    • Engage in value engineering by suggesting alternative materials or construction methods to achieve client objectives without compromising quality.
  7. Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate and organized documentation for each estimate, including calculations, cost breakdowns, and assumptions.
    • Prepare regular reports on estimating performance, including bid success rates, cost comparisons, and profitability analyses.
    • Document any changes or revisions to cost estimates and maintain a history of adjustments throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Concrete Detailer with additional experience in concrete estimating.
  • Strong understanding of concrete construction methods, materials, formwork systems, and project requirements.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of local labor, materials, and equipment rates, including formwork rental costs and reuse calculations.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a high level of accuracy in cost estimation, takeoffs, and budget forecasting.
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with clients, vendors, and project teams.
