Quality Specialist- Food Lab
As a Quality Control Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our products meet the highest standards of safety and quality. Your primary responsibilities will include performing internal audits and inspections, reviewing records, suggesting corrective actions, and verifying that our manufacturing processes adhere to established quality standards. This position requires a hands-on approach, with up to 85% of your day spent walking or standing within a manufacturing environment.
Essential Responsibilities:
Quality Control Monitoring: Oversee and document processes and critical points in manufacturing to ensure compliance with internal specifications, customer requirements, and legal standards.
Product Quality Verification: Conduct visual inspections, monitor product weights, codes, labeling, and other quality checks to maintain product excellence. Maintain accurate records of all checks and tests performed.
GMP and Compliance Enforcement: Ensure adherence to GMPs (Current Good Manufacturing Practices), Personnel Practices, Critical Process Points, Food Safety & Quality Policies, and SOPs. Lead by example and uphold all food safety and employee safety regulations.
Equipment Calibration: Set up, calibrate, and verify production and quality instrumentation such as scales and thermometers according to the established Calibration Schedule.
Material and Product Management: Place suspect materials, equipment, or finished products on HOLD and communicate these instances to the Management Team for appropriate action.
Record Maintenance: Review, verify, and maintain organized records related to Production, Quality, Traceability, and Statistical Process Control.
Food Safety Inspections: Perform inspections to ensure compliance with internal, customer, and third-party food safety and quality requirements.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
Experience: Prior experience in quality testing within a food or beverage company.
Independence: Ability to think and work independently, perform basic math, and communicate effectively in English.
Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with food regulations and standards such as SQF, FSMA, or HACCP.
Computer Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
