Fatherhood Training Specialist

Specific responsibilities include:

• Reporting directly to the Senior Program Coordinator.
• Facilitating group sessions at a secure detention facility five days a week.
• Assisting in recruitment efforts for program participation.
• Facilitating workshops and instruction of the ProFathering15 curriculum and related activities to pre-release participants on Riker's Island (Department of Correction).
• Researching and curating relevant and up-to-date materials for sessions as needed.
• Providing a minimum of two support groups per week, including input and assistance from Peer Mentors.
• Maintaining accurate documentation and database of sessions and participant attendance.
• Entering attendance and session data into the DOC system.
• Collaborating with the Family Development Coach, Young Adult Workforce program leadership, and other related personnel to provide comprehensive services.
• Ensuring the integrity of the program, communicating with the Department of Youth & Community Development (DYCD) and the Department of Corrections (DOC) on jail and community-based program progress.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
• 35-hour work week; evening schedule (11 am to 7 pm).

Qualifications include:

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Criminal Justice or related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of community resources and challenges facing formerly incarcerated individuals.
• Ability to obtain Department of Corrections clearance and work within the constraints of facility guidelines.
• Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, and communication (written and verbal) skills.
• Flexibility and dependability.
