LOCATION: Metro Phoenix Office
STATUS: PT/25 hrs/wk
SCHEDULE: Flex scheduling to include, weekends, evenings and holidays as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS: - High School Diploma or GED required
- College coursework preferred
- 1-2 years working with volunteers
- Organized, articulate, and detail oriented
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Ability to handle high volume incoming calls
- Computer literate in MS Office software
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Outgoing personality with the ability to be comfortable initiating conversations with strangers/public on behalf of The Salvation Army and who will represent the organization in a professional manner
- Must be at least 21 years of age with a valid Arizona Driver License with a clean driving record
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check
- Successfully pass the vehicle safety e-training to obtain Salvation Army's approval to operate vehicles.
- Remain in compliance with TSA dress code
RESPONSIBILITIES: - Record and report all activities and production statistics on a regular (monthly) basis to the Phoenix Metro Administrative Assistant
- Assist in designing and creating posters, flyers, brochures, etc utilizing graphic design software (i.e. Adobe Suite, Canva)
- Assist with special events and seasonal campaigns as assigned
- Responsible for handling in-kind and monetary donations and reporting
- Oversee logistics of event supplies for each event in conjunction with Warehouse Coordinator (i.e., Christmas Angel Tree, Christmas Warehouse, Holiday Dinners, Heat Relief, Back to School, Advisory Board Driven events, etc.)
- Respond to incoming calls/emails and assist in scheduling volunteers as assigned
- Assist with volunteer & event activity logistics (i.e., directing volunteers to assignment locations, etc.) including Thanksgiving and Christmas Day Dinners and Events.
- Run errands for inter-agency projects and events
- Assist in managing mailings to volunteers that confirm volunteer assignments
- Assist with sending out volunteer Thank you letters in January
- Assist with departmental training for divisional software (i.e. Volunteer Management System, Christmas Angel, Register to Ring)
- Work in collaboration with Metro Phoenix Team, Divisional Media Specialist, and Development Team
- Other duties as assigned as they relate to position of Event Assistant.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must have the ability to operate telephone, a desktop or laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer, and to understand written information.
