The Event Assistant will be responsible for overseeing the banquet staff as well as assisting the Banquet Manager with executing and managing of NorthStone Country Club of events. Requirements
The essential job functions for the person in this role include: - Help manage/execute afternoon, evening and weekend private events on location.
- Requires Point of sale and Microsoft Office/Outlook and event software knowledge.
- Responsible for assisting the Banquet Manager with all aspects of the wedding day such as tending to the bridal party, directing the wedding party prior to and during ceremony, ensuring the ceremony and reception run according to schedule, assisting guests, interacting with the vendors as well as any other behind-the-scenes work assistance that is needed.
- Responsible for creating event diagrams for events.
- Help manage NorthStone Banquet staff.
- Train banquet staff to ensure proper set up, breakdown & execution of events.
- Understand Banquet Event Orders to ensure safe, efficient event set up and break down.
- Help set up and break down buffet or other special food service tables and equipment.
- Complete prep and side work efficiently so focused attention during the event can be given fully to guest care.
- Clears soiled dishes as needed.
- Cleans all assigned work areas in kitchen and banquet areas.
- Provide genuinely friendly, professional guest service.
- Respond to guest questions, requests, and concerns with prompt courtesy.
- Advises supervisor of any member or guest complaints as soon as they occur.
- Assists in closing functions such as removing linen, bussing glasses, dishes, silverware, etc., and re-setting the room for next function.
- Attends weekly meetings with Event Sales Director and Banquet Manager to discuss event orders, upcoming staff scheduling, diagrams for event set up, staff evaluations and operational improvements.
- Attends staff meetings including pre-service (line-up) sessions.
- Consistently follows all food safety-related requirements.
- Completes other appropriate assignments made by the Banquet and Catering Manager, Food and Beverage Manager, or supervisor.
Education and/or Experience: - High School Diploma or GED is required.
- 1 year of experience working in banquets and/or event planning is preferred.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Exceptional customer relationship management skills.
- Exceptional communication skills - including written and interpersonal.
- Highly organized with the ability to meet multiple concurrent deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of initiative.
- Comfortable with using intuitive web-based software as well as smartphone technology (iPhone and Android).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Physical Demands and Work Environment: - Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach.
- Push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds.
- Continuous repetitive motions.
About the Club NorthStone Country Club is a privately owned club with approximately 1200 members. NorthStone offers an 18-hole golf course designed by PB Dye. The dining facilities include a newly renovated ballroom that can seat up to 220 guests, main dining room which can accommodate 90 guests, and a bar that seats up to 50 with multiple patio areas. NorthStone club also has four swimming pools, a water slide, a 3000 square foot fitness center, and tennis complex.
