We are looking for a full-time Tour Development Manager to join our Product Team.

This is a crucial role within our team which takes the lead on developing our commercial tour development strategy for Europe. You will be focused on optimising the current product portfolio, identifying gaps for new tours and assessing creative ways to increase sales. You will be a champion for growth in the region, collaborating closely with our local teams & guides in creating high quality, and highly memorable travel experiences.

In this role, you will have the freedom and autonomy to put your mark on our European tours, and drive progress and improvements across our products. While doing so, you will be reporting directly to our Head of Commercial, while collaborating closely with your North America counterpart, and our highly dedicated Tour Operations team. A true dream-team (if we say so ourselves!)

This is a fully remote role and we are open to candidates based in any country, provided you are well positioned to collaborate and communicate with our teams in UK and European time-zones.There may be occasions where the US time-zone needs to be accommodated for company-wide, or CEO-led communications.

What this role involves...

  • Continuous review and optimisation of the current product portfolio, utilising your extensive analytical skills to: grow revenue, maximise quality, and ensure your region has the required elements in place to achieve scale.
  • Work closely with the Head of Commercial and Destination teams to identify gaps in the market, conduct regular competitor analysis and market research to create disruptive, differentiated products.
  • Accountability for New Product revenue and margin targets.
  • Lead the pricing strategy for your region, ensuring competitive edge and maintaining gross, and net profit targets.
  • Lead the yield strategy for your region, implementing a suitable yield process that optimises profit whilst limiting cancellation, working with local teams, and sales & marketing to implement creative solutions.
  • Leading on local initiatives and collaborations in your region, to establish meaningful connections with local business, charities, enterprises to support our customer engagement strategy of ‘connection’.
  • Collaborating closely with our Head of Commercial, and your other key stakeholders, to develop the market expansion plan for your region, identifying new markets for entry.
  • Own product quality for your region, implementing processes to appropriately evaluate both quantitative and qualitative data to inform innovation, and to optimise customer experience.
  • Lead all regional contracting with a range of stakeholders, including attractions, DMC’s, OTA’s and tour operators, securing the best possible conditions to meet business needs.
  • Provide regular market research and industry related information to key internal stakeholders, highlighting opportunities and potential threats.
  • Confident collaborating with colleagues and partners to effectively build and deliver a suitable product marketing strategy, that maximises direct and indirect sales.
  • Work with technology partners, to confidently interpret and manipulate e-commerce data to effectively grow your regional product portfolio.
  • Attendance at strategic trade events to support the growth and development of our tour portfolio, and to strengthen current, and ignite new, partnerships.

What we need from you...

  • A passion for delivering high quality experiences, a creative mind, and a willingness to push boundaries and think outside of the box.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role with extensive contacts in the attractions & tours space
  • Solid geographical knowledge of your region, with a range of contacts and experience to implement a mix of quick wins and long term strategy.
  • Highly analytical & numerical skill set with the ability to build, present and interpret data sets within a commercial and financial capacity, you consider yourself a champion on excel / google sheets.
  • Well organised and comfortable working in a fast paced environment, ensuring you and your team remain focused and aligned to core business objectives.
  • Experience in positioning and marketing products via partners, inclusive of OTA’s, Tour Operators, Pass providers.
  • You have the ability to implement solid commercial processes, whilst educating colleagues on the need to ensure processes are adhered to.
  • Great presentation skills, confident delivering presentations and business proposals to senior management and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to balance the sometimes competing priorities of driving scale and revenue, with maintaining high quality standards and putting the customer experience first

Practical Task: (1 hour) If both you and our Head of Commercial feel there is a strong alignment between what you’re looking for in your next role, and what we need in our team, you will be invited to complete a practical task which you will then present in your second meeting. You will be presenting your task to our Head of Commercial and one other team member.

Team Interview: (30 minutes) Once you have demonstrated your skills and experience, you will have the opportunity to meet additional team members you will work closely with in this role. This is also a great chance to learn more about our culture, and what working at ExperienceFirst really feels like.
