ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Troubleshoot and diagnose problems on wind turbines, electrical transmission and collection systems, and SCADA systems
Review design details for replacement/substitute components for suitability
Assist in troubleshooting communication system problems
Assist in performing Root Cause Analysis for component failures and incidents
Analyze battery storage and solar project system performance, & assist in troubleshooting problems
Use a videoscope to inspect internal equipment components
Test wind turbine equipment to determine effects of stress or fatigue
Create or maintain wind farm layouts, schematics or other visual documentation for wind farms
Analyze operation of wind farms or wind farm components to determine reliability, performance and compliance
Takes immediate corrective action in response to emergency situations to minimize safety hazards and to reduce damage or downtime to the plant and its equipment.
Operates various pieces of heavy equipment, such as forklifts, machine tools and electrical test equipment in the performance of operation and maintenance work.
Reads, interprets, and implements technical information such as electrical drawings, manufacturers data, and operating and maintenance procedures.
Trains to improve personal skills and the skills of co-workers related to the job and/or required advancement
Adheres to, supports and complies with all company safety and environmental policies and practices. Ensures all employees, contractors and visitors conduct themselves safely and within company policies and regulatory guidelines.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE Bachelor degree in engineering is preferred but not required. Hands on experience along with a solid theoretical knowledge of various mechanical components (e.g., positive displacement pumps, solenoid valves, reduction gears, hydraulic cylinders, accumulators, various sensors, electrical generators, transformers, capacitors, etc.). Approximately 4-6 years power plant maintenance experience is preferred.
Individual should possess the following skills: Basic understanding of AC and DC electrical theory and principles, Lithium-based battery knowledge, Photovoltaic (PV) cell theory, solar energy collection, Familiarity with use of digital multi-meters, Capable of taking measurements with various mechanical measuring instruments (Vernier calipers, inside & outside micrometers, etc.).
Desired qualifications: Knowledge of operating procedures. Knowledge of plant design and equipment locations, Knowledge of complex instrumentation and SCADA systems. Safe use of tools, plant safety rules, probable causes of equipment and systems malfunctions. Knowledge of heavy equipment operation and signs and signals. Knowledge of electrical test equipment and troubleshooting. Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office software (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Teams).
