Position Overview

We are one of the leading mid-sized wholesalers for the western half of the United States. We have been in business for almost 50 years! Due to our continued growth, we are seeking a skilled E&S Underwriter - Property to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing and underwriting property insurance risks in the Excess & Surplus property market ensuring that our portfolio remains profitable while meeting the needs of our clients. This is a hybrid position that can be out of our Phoenix, Seattle or Stockton office.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and underwrite property insurance applications in the Excess & Surplus market.
• Strive to quote 5+ accounts each day. 
• Analyze risk factors and make informed decisions on policy terms and pricing.
• Develop and maintain relationships with brokers and clients to facilitate new and renewal business.
• Ensure compliance with company guidelines and regulatory requirements during the underwriting process.
• Monitor industry trends and changes to improve underwriting strategies and practices.
• Willingness to travel 10%-20% of the time for events, conferences and home office visits. 

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelors Degree preferred. 
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in property insurance underwriting. 
• Strong understanding of Excess & Surplus lines and property insurance markets.
• Proficient in risk assessment and analysis tools.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
