Drives truck and trailer to haul logs in a safe and efficient manner to designated company locations.
Key Responsibilities
Drives truck and trailer to haul logs from sites to mill.
Assist with loading and unloading logs, operate picker.
Abides by all Company, DOT, State and Federal transportation safety regulations.
Ensures load is properly secured and weight is evenly distributed on truck and trailer. Checks binders and wrappers to ensure the load is secure.
Inspects tractor trailer and equipment for defects and safe operating condition before (pre-trip) and after trips, as applicable, also when stopped during the workday. Submits a driver's daily vehicle inspection report on the condition no later than the end of each day.
Performs basic preventative maintenance to ensure fluid levels and tire pressures are maintained.
This position requires a Class "A" Driver's License with no manual restrictions.
Current DOT physical examination card, and clean DMV record.
Insurable DMV record.
Log hauling experience is preferred.
Compensation details: 20-25 Hourly Wage
