Description

• Performs data entry and processes patient transport dispatches via the Tele-Tracking System.
• Adjust assignments of patient transport duties when needed
• Fields calls to transport office for patient transport status changes
• Performs daily report per shift with transport team of duties and assignments
• Performs transport new hire training.
• Communicates with other departments to assess their transport needs
• Must be orientated to physical layout of hospital and locations of patient testing areas.
• Acts as provisional supervisor when supervisor/manager is not on duty.
• Provides training and education to new users of Transport Teletracking System.

• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
• For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

Qualifications

• High School Equivalent / GED (Required)

• 2+ years Patient transport experience (Required)

• Excellent communication is essential (Required proficiency)
• Knowledge and handling of transport equipment (Required proficiency)
• (wheelchairs, carts, oxygen) (Required proficiency)
• Must have ability to pass written exams or demonstrate understanding of the following Guidelines and Policies (Required proficiency)
• Age specific competency (Required proficiency)
• Universal Precautions (Required proficiency)
• Isolation policy and procedures (Required proficiency)
• HIPAA policy (Required proficiency)
• Hospital Safety (Required proficiency)
• National Patient Safety Goals(NPSG) (Required proficiency)
• Proper Body Mechanics for lifting and/or moving patients (Required proficiency)

• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Adults and Children Upon Hire (Required)
