Definition The City of Missouri City is hiring two (2) Deputy/Assistant City Manager positions that will report directly to the City Manager.
The next Deputy/Assistant City Manager will join a high-performing organization delivering excellent municipal services while navigating exciting challenges and opportunities to include actively seeks alternative funding sources to support critical infrastructure projects and community programs; a commitment to embracing innovative technologies to enhance service delivery and improve operational efficiency; enhancing community engagement and actively seeking resident input on city policies and priorities; striving for continuous improvement and developing high standards and best practices across all departments; as well as focusing on team development and creating an environment where employees feel valued, supported, and empowered.
A bachelor's degree in public administration, business management, political science, or a related field is required, with a master's degree preferred. Candidates should have at least eight years of leadership experience in municipal government, such as City Manager, Deputy City Manager, or Assistant City Manager roles. Certifications like Certified Public Manager or ICMA Credentialed Manager are desirable. This leader must demonstrate a commitment to fiscal responsibility, innovation, and community partnership, ensuring the efficient delivery of city services.
