Robert Half is seeking a skilled and experienced Data Center Analyst to join the team at the Santa Clara, CA data center for an exciting client. If you have strong problem-solving skills and a passion for making effective change within an organization, this could be the Data Center technician job for you. This Data Center technician is a swing shift from 4pm-12am, Tuesday-Saturday. This is a contract of 6 months, but there is a possibility of conversion based on performance and business needs. The successful candidate will be responsible for various tasks related to data center operations and must possess strong technical skills and attention to detail.
What you get to do every single day as a Data Center Technician:
- Rack and stack physical equipment in the Santa Clara data center
- Manage the storage room efficiently including unboxing
- You will get to physically run cabling and connect devices as required
- Handle server-related tasks including installation of servers
- Utilize ticketing system such for issue tracking and resolution
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a Data Center Analyst
- Proficient in Excel, including experience with formulas and pivot tables
- Knowledge of fiber optics, including cabling, multimode, and single mode
- Solid understanding of different types of SFPs (Small Form-Factor Pluggable) and their speeds
- Familiarity with server installation and related tasks
- Ability to work in a Tuesday to Saturday schedule from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm
- Critical thinking, problem solving, ability to work independently
- IT ticketing system experience desired, preferably ServiceNOW
