Cboe interns work with a variety of staff across multiple departments and have the opportunity to put their skills to work in their field of interest, while learning about Exchange technology and operations through our robust Options Institute courses.
The three main foundational pillars of our internship program are: develop, educate and network. We want to ensure each of our interns receive a real-world working experience that encourages academic, professional and personal growth.
Candidates should be versatile, eager and able to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive financial and technical environment. Our interns will have the flexibility of working 2 days remotely, and 3 days in office per week at one of our state-of-the-art offices in Chicago, Kansas City, and New York City. To be eligible for this internship, applicants must be enrolled in a university or college program and should not be scheduled to graduate before December of the year in which the internship takes place. The Global Cybersecurity Fusion Center team is hiring for Cyber Threat Management intern: The Cyber Threat Management Intern position at Cboe is intended to provide exposure to the various functions, tools, and activities focusing on detecting and responding to cyber security incidents. The Cyber Threat Management Intern will be tasked with a range of responsibilities that provide real-world, hands-on experience with SIEM, SOAR, EDR, BAS, and Threat Hunting. You will interact with member of the entire Cyber Security Team along with Networking Engineering and Infrastructure teams to triage and solve problems.
Your responsibilities and learning objectives will be: - Conduct threat hunting and threat simulation based on the latest security threat
- Develop comprehensive reports for technical and non-technical audience
- Develop scripts or tools to enhance Cboe Global Market's incident response processes and capabilities
- Keep up to date with the latest cyber security threats and technologies
- Update procedures and methodologies to improve the incident response process
- Assist incident response team with day today operational activities
The ideal candidate has: - The ideal candidate will be an undergraduate student with a strong technology emphasis, majoring in Information Security, Cyber Security, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience related to these fields and should not be scheduled to graduate before December of the year in which the internship takes place.
- The candidate must have a passion for learning and enthusiasm for cyber security. This candidate should also have base knowledge of:
- Basic security concepts and best practices
- Common security threats and vulnerabilities
- Common Ports/Services
- Basic networking concepts
- Basic Windows and Linux Operating System concepts
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office products

As required by the New York City Human Rights Law, Cboe provides a reasonable range of minimum base salary for roles that may be performed in New York City. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to geographic location, skill set, level of experience, etc. For New York City only, the range of starting base salary for this role is $24 to $36 an hour. Additional incentive compensation and benefits may be available.
