Job Description SRC is continuing and expanding our support of the Navy's Network Security Integrated Product Team (NS IPT) Computer Network Defense (CND) program on a five year delivery order. The SRC team provides cutting-edge engineering, analysis, integration and life cycle sustainment support for the NS IPT/CND systems. The purpose of the Navy's NW IPT/CND program is to augment CND capabilities and integrate them into the unique environments encountered by Navy forces. Navy CND is an integral part of the cyber defense posture, protecting the Navy's component of the Global Information Grid (GIG) from exploitation and strongly linking to critical infrastructure protection. Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) - Atlantic requires resources to support the Research, Development, Test Evaluation (RDT E) and Integration activities for the Information Technology for the 21st Century (IT-21), and OCONUS Navy Enterprise Network (ONENET) networks, to enhance network and cyber security.
PRIMARY DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES: - Provides network security design, installation, support, and system administration support for Computer Network Defense Systems (CNDS)
- Performs product testing, product evaluation and reviews, network design, and system development of Information Assurance (IA) and network systems. This team consists of numerous engineers and SME's tasked with finding the next solutions for CND systems
- Designs, builds and maintains VMware-based virtualization environments utilizing vSphere, VMware Tanzu, VMware NSX
- Establishes a foundation for Orchestration of Containerized Applications, focusing on migration and use cases for existing applications in addition to general Container Security concept
Requirements MINIMUM SKILLS REQUIREMENTS: - Five (5) to eight (8) years of experience in relevant technical field, to include: Technology Analysis and Assessment, Design Definition, Development of Systems Specification, Systems Analysis, Systems Architecture, Systems/Equipment Integration, Test Evaluation Criteria, and Logistics support of C5ISR requirements
- A DoD 8570.1 IAT Level II certifications is desired for this position
- Have one of the following security certifications: GSEC, Security +, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP
- An additional OS/OE cert in relevant technology area: VMware or equivalent
- Minimum of a Secret security clearance to start, and will require a Top Secret to be obtained after on-boarding
DESIRED SKILLS REQUIREMENTS: - Extensive experience in supporting, testing and integrating one or more of the following:
- Virtual hosting solutions, to include experience with hosting environment hardware, back-end storage solutions, virtualization management and virtual networking (NSX-T)
- Migration of existing applications to a container framework, and security of container solutions
- Compute and storage hardware design and validation for virtual hosting environments
- automation of installation and recurring tasks leveraging tools such as Ansible
- 5+ years' experience in one or more of:
- VMware or other virtualization or container solutions (such as OpenShift, AHV, or Kubernetes)
- Strongly desired to have a professional level certification such as VMware VCPor equivalent
- Virtualization and Container Design, Security and Implementation:
- Proven VMWare administration, design and/or installation experience (vCenter/vSphere, vSAN, NSX-T, Tanzu) experience within the last two years
- Experience with virtual machine and container security, including with hardening via DISA STIGs
- Experience with container management and deployment architectures, such as Tanzu, OpenShift or Kubernetes
- Have experience maintaining and troubleshooting ESXi hosts
- Experience evaluating services and products provided by COTS/GOTS vendors and provide recommendations
- Understanding of data structures and design of highly available systems
- Be self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and in a collaborative environment
- Knowledge of systems engineering activities and process improvement approaches strongly desired
- Be comfortable with the creation of in-depth, accurate technical documentation
- Experience developing capabilities that quickly process and provide to end user critical data requests
- Experience in developing analytics supporting cyber security use cases that supports decision aids at the strategic, operational and tactical levels of maritime warfare
- Have system administration experience on DoD-deployed systems
- Knowledge of CND ashore and afloat systems is a plus
