Leidos is seeking a Computer Systems Security Analyst to be part of the mission of safeguarding the Agency’s information systems and ensuring secure access to protected resources. Join one of our high performing teams responsible at the Social Security Administration (SSA) and their mission to meet the changing needs of the public, positively impacting at least 65 million American lives per month. We are a team of forward-looking professionals in need of a strong candidate with these key required skills : Familiarity with security information and event management (SIEM) tools, antivirus software, and other security technologies used for monitoring and protecting systems.

*** Selected candidate must be willing to work on-site in Woodlawn, MD 5 days a week.

• Develop and maintain information security standards, guidelines, and procedures to enhance the organization’s security posture.
• Monitor and analyze security events and alerts to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
• Provide support to end users with applications and systems managed by the organization, ensuring they can perform their assigned duties effectively.
• Write reports on security incidents, user access issues, and compliance with security policies.
• Implement the concepts of least privilege and need-to-know to ensure that users have appropriate access to resources.
• Assist users requiring access to protected resources, including managing user accounts and performing password resets.
• Collaborate with IT teams to ensure secure configurations and compliance with security standards.
• Stay informed about the latest security trends, threats, and best practices to continuously improve security measures.

FOUNDATION FOR SUCCESS ( Basic Qualifications )

• Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of experience, master’s and 2 year of experience or 8+ years in lieu of a degree.
• Experience in information security, user support, or a related area.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust. Contract requirement.

• Strong understanding of access control principles and security best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to assist users effectively.

HOW TO STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD (Desired Skills)

Showcase your knowledge of modern development through the following experience or skills:

• Prior experience supporting the Social Security Administration or similar government agencies
• Familiarity with security tools and technologies (e.g., identity and access management systems).
• Experience in designing, developing and producing network solutions
• Basic knowledge in mainframe technology languages
• Basic knowledge of programming
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
• Security certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CISM).
