CNC Machinist

\n Pay Rate: $30 Hourly

Job Summary:
\nKelly Services, in partnership with Johnson & Johnson, is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join their dynamic team. This position plays a key role in fabricating prototype components and conducting machining duties with a strong focus on precision, quality, and innovation. If you are someone with experience in setting up and operating CNC machines, have basic programming knowledge, and are eager to learn, this is the opportunity for you.

Responsibilities:

\n\n

\n\t
• Set up, operate, and perform basic programming on CNC machinery such as HAAS VF3 with TR200 trunnion, HAAS Mini Mill, HAAS VF2, Mitsubishi EDM, and Citizen Swiss machines.\n\t
• Fabricate prototype components from metals, plastics, and other materials based on blueprints, models, and sketches.\n\t
• Review blueprints or drawings for machining capabilities and ensure compliance with specifications.\n\t
• Operate manual lathe, mills, drill presses, grinders, and CNC machining centers to produce precise parts.\n\t
• Work closely with engineers and cross-functional teams to produce tooling, fixtures, and parts.\n\t
• Ensure machinery is clean, well-maintained, and operating at optimal efficiency.\n\t
• Communicate any issues or opportunities to management for improvement.\n\t
• Suggest process improvements to enhance shop or department operations and efficiency.\n\t
• Adhere to safety, health, and environmental standards while maintaining compliance with company procedures.\n

Required Skills and Experience:

\n\n

\n\t
• High school diploma or GED with 1-2 years of related machining experience or equivalent training.\n\t
• Proficiency in operating conventional mills, lathes, surface grinders, drill presses, and CNC machinery (CNC Machining Centers or 5-Axis Swiss Lathes).\n\t
• Basic understanding of CNC programming with CAM software (MasterCAM, PartMaker) and willingness to expand programming skills.\n\t
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD files, and work orders.\n\t
• Solid math skills, including the ability to use fractions, decimals, and geometry in machining operations.\n\t
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.\n\t
• Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations in a machining environment.\n

Preferred Skills:

\n\n

\n\t
• Hands-on experience with one of the following: HAAS VF3, HAAS Mini Mill, HAAS VF2, Mitsubishi EDM, and Citizen Swiss machines.\n\t
• Exposure to 3D printing (preferred but not required).\n

\n\n

Work Environment:
\nThis position is based in a machine shop environment where safety is a top priority. Some overtime may be required to meet production demands.
