Duties and Responsibilities:

• Enter data into election management systems.
• Prepare outgoing mailed materials, including printing, copying, folding, labeling and combining.
• Process incoming mail, including collecting, sorting, distributing, scanning, filing.
• Answer phones, document call information, respond to questions or direct them to appropriate resource.
• Operate office and commercial scale equipment, including printers, scanners, copiers.
• Match and reconcile documents and data.
• Move boxes and other materials.
• Other duties as requested.

Education:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent from an accredited educational institution.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Adherence to policies and laws are a must.
• Must be able to work under stress and able to work without direct supervision.
• Knowledgeable of the general operations of an election and the Harris County website.
• Be professional and have good interpersonal skills.
• Computer literate, proficient in Microsoft Office suite, can type 30 words per minute, and be willing to learn new computer programs and applications.
• Must have the ability to prioritize tasks and possess excellent communication skills.

• Experience with Harris County Election Processes a plus.

Position Type and Typical Hours of Work:

• Temp Full-time | End date: 5/10/2025 |  Desired Start Date: 03/17/2025

• 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, 30-minute lunch and two (2) 15-minute breaks.
  • Standard work week is Monday-Friday, however, must be available to work some weekends.
  • 30 - 35 hours per week with the possibility of 40-50 hours in high-need time periods.
  • Work week = 5 days a week, must be able to work weekends | Shifts range from 8 - 12 hours.
  • On three mandatory days during an election, shifts will range from 14 - 20 hours.
  • This is a temporary position in which qualified individuals may be asked to work future elections. 

Salary:

• $17.00  Hourly

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

• This job is primarily an active, physically demanding role. Walking, standing, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 40lbs is a mandatory component of the job.
