Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Civil Designer to support engineering and construction activities at our industrial recycling facilities. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Civil 3D, land surveying, and industrial land development, and will contribute to projects involving underground utilities, stormwater systems, and concrete/foundation work. This role is critical in supporting infrastructure upgrades and operational efficiency across our metal recycling sites.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and modify site development drawings, grading plans, and utility layouts using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Interpret and incorporate survey data into design documents and assist in the creation of topographic and as-built drawings.
• Assist in the design and layout of underground utilities, including conduits, stormwater systems, and water/fire line installations.
• Collaborate with engineers and construction teams on concrete foundations, equipment pads, paving, and site layout modifications.
• Support planning and design for site infrastructure, including access roads, drainage improvements, and yard expansions.
• Conduct site visits for measurements, layout verification, and construction support.
• Coordinate with contractors, project managers, and inspectors to ensure design intent is achieved.
• Prepare and update construction documents, details, and material takeoffs.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Drafting/Design, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in civil design using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Hands-on experience with industrial land development or land surveying.
• Familiarity with utility installation and stormwater system design in construction environments.
• Working knowledge of concrete work, foundation detailing, and paving layouts.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced industrial setting.
• Ability to read and interpret civil, structural, and utility drawings.
