About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to serve as the senior financial executive, overseeing all aspects of financial management, planning, budgeting, reporting, and compliance. The CFO will be a key member of the President's Cabinet, responsible for ensuring financial sustainability, operational efficiency, and resource allocation that supports the institution's mission and enhances student success. This role involves leading the development and implementation of long-term financial strategies, managing the annual budget, and providing financial modeling and analysis for decision-making. The CFO will also be involved in institutional advancement, representing the College in discussions with government agencies, funding sources, and the community to promote financial support and visibility. Candidates for the CFO position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or a related field, with a Master's degree preferred. A CPA certification or similar professional designation is also preferred. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' of experience in financial management, with at least 3 years' in a senior leadership role, and a strong background in operational and strategic planning, budgeting, financial reporting, and policy development. Knowledge of federal financial regulations and compliance requirements is essential, with a preference for candidates familiar with the State of North Carolina and the NCCCS regulations. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are required, as well as proficiency in financial software and systems, and MS Office applications. The CFO should have a collaborative and inclusive management style, and be prepared for a work environment that can be stressful at times, with some evening and weekend work, and travel.
