Adecco Medical & Science is assisting a local client in their search to hire a Certified Dental Assistant in Newark, NJ.

Type: Temp
Shift: Mon-Fri 7.45am-3.45pm, (35 hours work week, 1 hour lunch break)
The anticipated wage for this position is between 23/hr. - 26/hr.
Certification/licenses: CDA and/or X-ray license

Department: Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

SUMMARY:

Assists dentists and residents with dental procedures and patient treatment. Provides assistance during general anesthesia, cosmetic surgical procedures and implant dentistry procedures. Carries out the variety of general office receptionist assignments, including front desk and data entry.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

. Identifies and pull selected equipment, instruments and supplies needed for oral maxillofacial surgical procedures.

. Prepares and sets up work area and operatory for the scheduled procedure including turnovers, cleaning,

restocking, inventory and ordering of supplies and instruments on a regular basis. Assists in gowning and gloving surgeons.

. Escorts patients from waiting area to operatory and prepare patient for procedure like draping, positioning, witnessing patient consent and organizing instrumentation prior to procedure.

. Checks and records vital signs on the charts (e.g., pulse, blood pressure, temperature, respiration and weight) prior to procedure.

. Prepares implant for insertion and I.V. Cases.

. Protects airways during anesthesia by suctioning and proper positioning of head and chin, Prepares implants for insertion.

. Assists resident/student cases.

. Sets up sterilization room at the beginning of shift to accommodate soiled and contaminated instruments for ultrasonic and ensures infection control protocol is maintained.

. Prepares, drop-off, and pick up instruments to and from sterilization department and stores in their proper storage cabinet.

. Cleans all hand tubing, instruments and maintains tidiness of treatment room prior to leaving procedure so that they are free of contaminants.

. Takes, develops and mounts x-rays.

. As assigned, provides receptionist/front-desk coverage.

Education AND/OR Experience required:
Graduation from an accredited Dental Assistant Program
Certification as a Dental Assistant in the state of NJ
Valid dental radiologic technology license issued by NJ Department of Environmental Protection
CPR certified

Pay Details: 23.00 to 26.00 per hour
