Description:

We are seeking a skilled an experienced Carpenter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry, with expertise in constructing, installing, and repairing wooden structures and fixtures. The Carpenter will work on various projects, ranging from residential to commercial construction, and should be proficient in using a wide range of hand and power tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to understand project requirements.
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials, mostly wood, but also other materials.
  • Construct building frameworks, including walls, floors, and doorframes.
  • Install wooden structures such as roofing frames, rafters, partitions, joists, and stud work.
  • Install cabinets, shelving, and other fixtures.
  • Perform trim and finish carpentry work to enhance aesthetics and functionality.
  • Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures on construction sites.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, architects, and subcontractors to ensure the project meets the specified requirements.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a carpenter in residential, commercial, or industrial settings.
  • Proficiency in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches.
  • Strong understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; a diploma from a vocational school or completion of an apprenticeship is a plus.
  • Excellent understanding of safety rules in construction.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
