Warner Bros. Discovery seeks a Broadcast A1 (SWAT) for CNN's Technical Operations department. This position plays an integral role as part of the live control room production team, well versed in audio mixing and thriving in a fast-paced 24x7 news environment, responsible for enhancing various audio elements for live and pre-produced events. The Broadcast A1 (SWAT) has an adaptable skillset and deeper knowledge of advanced features of all control room audio equipment to cover any schedule across all CNN News Group network platforms and support training new A1s. Responsibilities include handling fast-paced and changing news environment demands, operating independently with leadership skills, developing and documenting processes and workflows, serving as a subject matter expert of audio technology and workflows, collaborating with management on projects and network initiatives, mentoring and training A1s, creatively enhancing viewer experience, consulting with Show Director and stakeholders, and assisting Audio Supervisor with new workflows and procedures. Preferred qualifications include 5+ years of experience mixing in live broadcast news or significant industry experience as an audio engineer, knowledge of mixing consoles, RF management, acoustics, microphones, IEMs, editing software, advanced skills with broadcast audio components, troubleshooting and designing audio console setups, live broadcast remotes and production truck experience, a four-year degree or equivalent education or experience, strong leadership, communication, organizational and relationship skills, and flexibility to work 24/7 including holidays, weekends, and overnights.
