Bookkeeper – Part-Time (3 Days a Week) | $25-$30/hr

About the Role

We’re looking for a skilled  Bookkeeper to manage our financial records and payroll. This role is 3 days per week and offers competitive pay of $25-$30 per hour , based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Full cycle accounts receivable and accounts payable, including reconciliation and ensuring accuracy in financial transactions.
• Prepare monthly financial reports , including Profit and Loss statements, Balance Sheets, and other key financial metrics.
• Assist with financial data analysis and provide insights on the company’s financial health.
• General ledger reconciliation to ensure completeness and accuracy of all financial records.
• Month-end journal entries, assisting with  month-end close process , and providing support to the CA with year-end financial reporting.
• Perform bank and credit card reconciliations, ensuring accurate posting of transactions.
• Process payroll, including calculating deductions, issuing payments, and ensuring compliance with payroll regulations.
• Handle government remittances (e.g., GST, payroll taxes) and review employee expense reports for accuracy and policy adherence.
• Maintain vendor and customer records, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Create purchase orders and sales orders as required.
• Handle special accounting projects and other duties as assigned, with a focus on improving financial processes and reporting.

What We’re Looking For

• Fluent in English (spoken and written) with excellent communication skills, as this role involves frequent interaction with clients, vendors, and team members.
• Experience with QuickBooks is essential for managing financial transactions, generating reports, and ensuring accuracy in accounting processes.
• Proficiency in MS Excel , including experience with formulas, data analysis, and creating financial reports (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.).
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow through on tasks to ensure accuracy in financial reporting, reconciliations, and data entry.
• Experience with financial reporting (such as Profit and Loss statements, Balance Sheets, etc.) and ability to assist in month-end close processes.
• Ability to work independently while also being a  team player who enjoys collaborating in a dynamic work environment.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines, especially during month-end and year-end reporting.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze financial data and provide actionable insights.
• Experience with payroll processing and handling  government remittances is preferred but not required.
