Keene State College invites applications for a Boiler Mechanic to maintain and ensure the safe operation of our boilers, steam turbine and related equipment. This is a full-time, 40 hour per week, benefited position. This role is Monday-Friday, 7:30 am - 4 pm (flexibility if needed). Hourly rate is commensurate with experience.

Duties include:
Operating high pressure steam boilers and auxiliaries, steam turbine and related equipment, and chemical/additive pumps as required.
Ordering supplies as required for timely repair and service.
Ordering fuel and monitoring consumption.
Overseeing contracted services.
Adhere to operations/maintenance procedures and preventative maintenance programs.
Monitor records and utilize energy management systems to help optimize plant efficiency.
Isolate and perform Lock-Out/Tag-Out on plant equipment.
Plant housekeeping duties.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements: High School or Technical School graduation or equivalent apprenticeship and four years' experience as a pipefitter, or mechanic in a boiler environment, including one year of supervisory experience.
Knowledge of heating systems, boiler and other related power equipment, boiler chemistry and water testing procedures, boiler codes and safety standards.
Proven oral and written communication skills;.
Demonstrated experience with computer applications including MS Word or equivalent, Excel, Outlook, etc.
Proven organizational and documentation skills.
The ability to work independently and effectively as a team member.
Valid driver's license.
Position involves heavy lifting, working in a variety of workplace conditions and ability to wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment as necessary.
Position requires off-hour call backs and some weekend and evening hours.
Post offer, pre-employment physical exam also required.
Additional preferred: Three years experience working with steam.
Knowledge of computerized building automation systems.
Stationary boiler operators license or equivalent.
Valid New Hampshire gas license or additional boiler certification or licensing.
