We are seeking a passionate and customer-focused Part-Time Coffee Barista to join our team at Hamsart Market and Café as a Barista. You will play a crucial role in creating a positive and memorable experience for our customers. You will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers, preparing and serving a variety of coffee beverages and food items, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. This position is ideal for individuals who are enthusiastic about coffee, enjoy interacting with people, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

• Greet customers with a warm and friendly demeanor.

• Take customer orders and provide recommendations based on their preferences.

• Ensure excellent customer service at all times.

Beverage Preparation:

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages as well as food items with precision and consistency.

• Operate coffee brewing equipment and espresso machines.

• Ensure the quality and presentation of all beverages to meet our standards.

• Maintain a high level of expertise in coffee brewing methods and equipment.

Cash Handling:

• Accurately process customer transactions, handle cash, and provide correct change.

• Maintain a clean and organized cash register area.

Maintaining Cleanliness:

• Keep the coffee bar area, workstations, and customer seating areas clean and organized.

• Follow hygiene and sanitation standards to ensure a safe and inviting environment.

• Monitor and replenish coffee supplies and condiments as needed.

Product Knowledge:

• Stay informed about coffee blends, brewing methods, and product offerings.

• Educate customers about our coffee products and answer any questions they may have.

Team Collaboration:

• Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.

• Communicate effectively with colleagues and management to address any issues or concerns.

Adherence to Policies:

• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and guidelines.

• Follow health and safety regulations to maintain a safe work environment.

Qualifications:

• Prior experience as a barista or in a similar customer service role is preferred.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.

• Ability to engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner.

• Capable of working collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.

• Ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain consistency in beverage preparation.

• Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.

• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move heavy items.
