Job Overview: A prominent law firm located in Orange, California is expanding its legal team and seeks a driven and dynamic attorney with experience in criminal defense. This role is ideal for a candidate who is prepared to independently manage a docket of cases, offer strategic representation at every stage of litigation, and communicate effectively with clients. The firm provides strong administrative support, allowing attorneys to focus entirely on advocacy and client service. Bilingual fluency in Spanish is highly desirable. Duties: Manage an independent caseload involving misdemeanor and felony matters Represent clients during pre-filing interactions with law enforcement Appear in court for arraignments, readiness conferences, probation matters, and sentencing Argue and litigate pre-trial motions (e.g., PC 995, PC 1538.5) Negotiate resolutions, plea deals, and diversion agreements Handle jury and bench trials from preparation to verdict Advise clients on constitutional rights, defenses, and case strategy Conduct client meetings and maintain consistent communication throughout case progression Prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery Represent clients at DMV hearings for DUI-related offenses Handle Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) hearings on behalf of either party Engage with prosecutors, expert witnesses, and law enforcement personnel Provide support in post-conviction relief efforts Requirements: Minimum of 1 year of hands-on criminal defense experience Demonstrated courtroom experience, including trials and preliminary hearings California State Bar license in good standing Former experience as a prosecutor or public defender is strongly valued Familiarity with the Los Angeles and Orange County court systems is advantageous Education: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school Certifications: Active and unblemished license from the State Bar of California Skills: Strong presence and professionalism in court Excellent legal research and persuasive writing ability Clear and confident verbal communication Organizational discipline and effective time management Ability to develop and maintain client trust and engagement Job Location: Orange, California (with potential travel to surrounding counties) Comprehensive health insurance package (subject to standard eligibility period) Annual performance-based bonus potential Supportive infrastructure, including marketing, intake, and administrative assistance Opportunities for professional growth and case variety across Southern California #J-18808-Ljbffr BCG Attorney Search
