The position includes responsibility contributing to all facets of Division I Athletic event management, including preparation, budget management, facilitation, supervision and evaluation for home regular and post-season varsity competition and key special events. Responsibilities include administrative support, data collection and analysis; event preparation and event management; technology utilization, planning and management of various projects; procurement and contract management; recruiting, hiring & training; cleaning, health and safety; communication and management of a part time, volunteer and student work force. Responsible for coordinating volunteer workers and organizations to enhance the game environment under the current NCAA Division I guidelines and initiatives. The daily operation of the office includes approval for processed invoices and TIM payroll submissions. With respect to the coordination of home athletic events, position must communicate proactively and efficiently with departmental and university officials, home and visiting coaches, game officials, event management support staff and spectators. The range of duties includes, but is not limited to: Staffing (i.e. part-time paid supervisors, students, volunteer ushers, etc.) recruitment, training, oversight and retention; Customer service training; Report and manual writing; Submitting and reconciling budgets and financial data; An ever-increasing focus on venue security based on national and international events. Work is performed in an office setting, on athletic fields and in athletic venues in all types of weather conditions. Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. Demonstrated ability to maintain positive interpersonal relationships with faculty, staff, work associates, and facility users; strong personnel management and customer service skills; demonstrated ability to organize and manage a large student/temporary/volunteer staff; thorough knowledge base of events and sports facility operations and programming areas; demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and demonstrate a positive, customer service attitude at all times. #J-18808-Ljbffr NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association)
