Position Summary

Step into a high-impact leadership role within a dynamic, rapidly expanding organization. As Assistant Corporate Controller , you’ll serve as a key financial leader, supporting the Corporate Controller and working closely with executive leadership across departments including Legal, IT, and Operations. You’ll oversee the financial operations of 20+ entities, lead a growing team, and drive process improvements that elevate the accounting function to best-in-class standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and the internal close calendar.

• Oversee internal and external financial reporting, including monthly management reporting packages, bank reports, and consolidated financials with footnotes.

• Provide strategic leadership in the development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.

• Drive process improvements and automation initiatives across the accounting function to enhance accuracy, scalability, and efficiency.

• Oversee the accounting and financial reporting for a diverse investment and loan portfolio.

• Review income tax provisions and support tax compliance efforts in collaboration with external tax preparers.

• Manage consolidation processes including eliminations, non-controlling interests, and equity method investments.

• Assist in managing external audits for multiple legal entities.

• Foster the growth and development of a high-performing accounting team—recruiting, coaching, mentoring, and evaluating team members.

• Serve as a trusted advisor and collaborate cross-functionally with executive stakeholders to inform business decisions through financial insight.

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards while promoting a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

• Maintain readiness to evolve with the organization—this is a highly visible position with ample opportunity for growth and expanded responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.

• CPA designation required.

• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership of large teams and technical financial reporting.

• Background in a large private company or public accounting firm (Big 4 or regional preferred).

• Deep understanding of GAAP with the ability to interpret and apply to complex business scenarios.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to distill complex financial information into actionable insights.

• Proven experience in managing consolidations and supporting multi-entity structures.

• Advanced Excel skills required; experience with ERP systems such as Workday Financials strongly preferred.

• Familiarity with Statutory Accounting Principles is a plus.

• Demonstrated ability to build relationships across all levels and thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
