Job Title: Accountant (Temporary - 6 Months)

Location: Newark, NJ (On-site)

Start Date: May 12, 2025

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Team Size: 5

Environment: Collaborative

Estimated Duration: 6 months

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Accountant to support our finance and controllership team. This is a great opportunity to gain exposure to a large, well-established company, working on capital project reviews, internal controls, and monthly financial entries. The right candidate will be self-directed, curious, and detail-oriented.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and comment on monthly trial balance fluctuations for assigned accounts and company codes
  • Create and submit journal entries for month-end close
  • Ensure oversight of capital assets under construction and related journal entries
  • Contribute to improved internal controls and processes
  • Support site audits and resolve identified issues
  • Collaborate with business partners and shared services (MGSF) on capital projects
  • Perform ad-hoc financial reviews and analyses as needed

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required)
  • 3–5 years of hands-on accounting experience
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
  • Must be detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities

Deal Breakers:

  • No Accounting degree
  • Recent graduates with no prior accounting experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a large company or CPG environment
  • Exposure to controls testing and capital asset oversight
  • Ability to work independently and ask questions proactively
