This is a physically demanding, fast-paced job involving independent or team-based work to hand-build quality upholstered furniture. Drive, urgency, and self-motivation are needed to meet daily production goals. The role requires standing for long periods, lifting and moving at least 50 lbs, and using hands to grip, pull, and handle materials. Comfort with power tools, framing, and staple guns is essential. Responsibilities include working in a team atmosphere, performing any position within the cell as needed, proper use of Kan Ban containers, upholstering tasks such as knocking down sharp corners of frame, stapling materials, inserting tack strips, and using air tools. Frame tasks include stapling, glue/wax application, and use of air tools. Cushion process involves validating unit cover, coordinating workflow, inserting stuffing, sealing, quilting, and stapling. Final assembly includes assembling components, oiling mechanisms, scanning tickets, and packaging tasks such as stapling, banding, taping, and moving units. Job requirements include basic reading, writing, and computer skills, ability to stand for up to 10 hours with frequent bending, twisting, reaching, and lifting at least 50 lbs. No supervisory responsibilities. Physical demands include strong coordination for repetitive tasks and skilled use of hands. Additional duties may be assigned.
